Position Summary

We are looking for an interim Risk and Assurance Analyst for a 12-month backfill role.

This inward-facing role sits on a small, close-knit team that is passionate about the foundation’s ability to accomplish its goals and catalyze lasting change. The team thrives on solving mysteries by delving into facts and data with a commitment to ethics, integrity, and impeccable diplomacy. The analyst will conduct independent research and synthesize complex materials to identify patterns that answer risk questions and analyzes allegation. You will also provide project management support and help us find opportunities to be more efficient in the processes and systems we use, all in an environment that has ambiguity, complexity, volatility, and nuance.

Core Responsibilities

Enterprise Risk Management (50%)

  • Support the creation and management of the foundation’s Enterprise Risk Register and risk advisories
  • Collect, synthesize, and provide analyses of strategy, annual planning, and other foundation and external technical materials
  • Act as a thought partner on risk advisory consultations
  • Build templates and tools to support the different consultations that our function offers
  • Establish an intranet presence for the ERM function and broader team

Investigations (25%)

  • Support the team in investigation intake, screening, research, and communications across internal stakeholders
  • Maintain the investigation tracker
  • Contribute to the preparation of reporting materials to the Audit Committee and the ELT

Grantee Internal Audit and Advisory (20%)

  • Manage the grantee audit process, maintain the audit tracker, and prepare stakeholder communications
  • Support an annual entity-wide risk assessment which identifies the key business risks and the adequacy of the processes and controls to address such risks
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of an internal audit program that addresses key risks across the foundation
  • Support the continuous improvement of the audit processes
  • Participate in relevant vendor and grantee-related meetings
  • Contribute to preparation of reporting materials to the Audit Committee and ELT

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of project management, research, and analytical experience in an organization of comparable scale and complexity
  • Risk advisory and/or audit experience would be a bonus.
